John L. Habib has volunteered for AmCham in several capacities: Board Secretary and Legal Affairs Committee Chair (3.5 years), Vice Chair (2 years) and Chairman (3 years). He is the founding Managing Partner of Qasimi Law Partners MENA, a full-service Emirati-U.S. joint venture law firm led by Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, its Chairman. John has practiced law in the MENA region since 1990, and moved to the U.A.E. in 2005. Before establishing QLP MENA, he was Chairman and majority shareholder of MENA Bridge Advisors, a free zone law firm, and previously served as Managing Partner of the Abu Dhabi branch of a U.S. law firm. In addition to his legal practice, John spent over a decade within the executive management of manufacturing and distribution companies. John obtained his law degree from Emory University School of Law in Georgia, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Emory International Law Review. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Colgate University in New York. He is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C., NY, Maryland and Arizona, and is married to Tanya Chuck Habib, also a lawyer in Abu Dhabi.
