About the Internship Program:

AmCham Abu Dhabi Legal Affairs Committee launched its first annual AmCham Abu Dhabi-UAE University Legal Internship Program through which Emirati law students at the UAE University College of Law had the opportunity to work at leading international law firms in the UAE.  The inaugural session of the AmCham-UAE University Legal Internship Program included a broad cross-section of AmCham Abu Dhabi member law firms which hosted Emirati students and assisted with the administration of the program.

In addition to experiencing the day to day practice of law at an international law firm, students benefited from numerous group activities throughout the program, such as seminars, panel discussions, brown bag luncheons, and the opportunity to observe live court proceedings.  In addition, the program featured:

  • Supervision and mentoring by an assigned lawyer-mentor
  • A variety of substantive legal assignments, based upon the student’s interest
  • Opportunities to observe or participate in meetings, negotiations, and court hearings
  • “Soft skills” training, such as CV review and mock interviews
  • Regular feedback and evaluation

The Legal Affairs Committee is honored to partner with UAE University with regard to this groundbreaking program that furthers Abu Dhabi’s goal of providing training and employment opportunities for Emirati students and preparing the next generation of leaders of the UAE legal community.

Thank you to the law firms that  hosted these valuable internships for Emirati students, the next generation of potential lawyers!

"Thank you for all your effort and assistance in trying to improve the UAE's young local population. Your commitment to helping us is truly humbling. I hope to see that these types of seminars become a regular occurrence across the UAE and if you require any assistance in promoting the seminars please let me know.“ Quote from  Marwan Al Rasheed

“Ms. Ramla Saif is bright, very personable, has adapted to the culture of the office easily, is polite, outgoing and thoughtful in her interactions. Her written work is good and with rigorous training I believe she could develop well."  Quote from Reed Smith who hosted, Ramla Saif
