Rula Dajani was appointed as Country Director in May 2015 and has been serving as AMIDEAST’s senior representative in the United Arab Emirates, fostering positive relationships with key government officials, clients, partners, and donors; and overseeing the delivery of all AMIDEAST programs and services, managing office operations and finances, recruiting and training staff. To date, key new strategic partnerships has been drawn with Roads and Transport Authority; Mohamed Bin Rashed Foundation; Crown Prince Court and the University Leadership Consortium. Prior to this position, Rula has served in Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and Washington DC managing several health and educations programs for USAID; designed and implemented fundraising strategies for key governmental organizations; managed media affairs during the Oslo Peace Process; designed behavior change communications strategies focusing on an array of sectors such as tourism, health services and education. Socio-economic programs were designed focusing on women economic empowerment, leadership and participation, strategic planning, raising democratic awareness through media strategies and journalist capacity building; in addition to designing and implementing international development and global dialogue strategies and providing technical support for policy creation and advocacy. She received her MPA from George Mason University in 1993, and her BA in English Literature and French from Birzeit University in 1987.
